Ixtapa Zihuatanejo

Ixtapa Zihuatanejo is a twin beach resort situated on La Costa Grande (Great Coast) of the Pacific Ocean north of Acapulco on what is also known as the “Mexican Riviera”. The fishing community of Zihuatanejo is located on the gorgeous and protected Zihuatanejo Bay while Ixtapa, a touristic resort developed by the government, lies some 5 kms to the north on the open ocean.

Acapulco

Acapulco, on Mexico’s Pacific coast, is known as the “Pearl of the Pacific” and has been a popular tourist destination since the 50s and 60s when the up-and-coming Hollywood crowd took it over as its favorite hangout. Attractions include the cliff divers of La Quebrada, the Fort of San Diego (Fuerte de San Diego) historical landmark and museum, and boat tours to the Isla La Roqueta and the Underwater Chapel.
