Mexico City, one of the world’s largest, is located in Mexico’s central high valley surrounded by mountain ranges and lying in the shadow of the Popocatepetl and Ixtaccihuatl volcanoes. This is the commercial, administrative and cultural heart of the Mexican nation, built on the site of the ancient Aztec capital, Tenochtitlan.

State of Morelos

A small but diverse state, Morelos offers colonial architecture and history, the archaeological sites of Xochicalco, Teopanzolco, El Tepozteco and Chalcatzingo, several reconstructed haciendas, many now turned into hotels and resorts and plenty of natural hot springs, lakes and recreational areas such as Tequesquitengo, Las Lagunas de Zempoala and Agua Hedionda in Cuautla.
