One of the great attractions of the Huasteca are its numerous and spectacular waterfalls, many of which are easily accessible to the regular visitor, and this past year we had the opportunity to take a tour of several of them at the tail end of the rainy season.

Taninul Resort

Taninul: “Place where the waters rise” — an unusual resort hotel run by the sugar-workers union offering access to a pool fed by a natural sulphur spring with spa facilities, tennis courts and tranquility Taninul, originally a sugar-producing hacienda, was taken over in 1986 by the Sugar Workers Union and opened as a hotel. This 700 acre reserve is located in the lushness of the tropical Huasteca Potosina . The Hotel itself is a sprawling stone structure of 130 rooms.
