There is a wonderful website that provides access to a lovely selection of fine music that is not available in many places, called Magnatune.com. I visit the site fairly often and receive their sporadic email notices when new music is uploaded. Recently I came across this album by Tomás Lozano, who is a musician and singer of Andalusian extraction, although he now lives in the United States.
The album is called La Manana de San Juan and presents a series of traditional Spanish romance ballads (romanceros) featuring Lozano’s voice, the lightness of his acoustic guitar playing and evocative sound of the hurdy-gurdy. The music is lilting, relaxing and capable of transporting the spirit.
