What to expect from Mexico City’s Climate
At a mile-high and with a rarefied atmosphere, Mexico City’s climate is a combination of cool evenings most of the year and hot days on the urban pavement.
As in most parts of Mexico, the city’s hottest and most humid time is in May, just before the cooling rains start.
Be sure to carry an umbrella during the summer months, which is Mexico’s rainy season. Occasional rains usually start in May and carry on into October, but the heaviest and most regular rains fall from June thru’ September.
From December through February and sometimes into March you can expect to need sweaters and jackets — even, sometimes, during the daytime. On clear days you will see snowfall on the nearby volcanoes and it’s not uncommon for light snows to fall in the high regions around the Mexico City basin.
