Although much of the coast of Jalisco State is not generally known for incredible surfing, it does have a number of beaches where surfers can get in a good ride. The shots to the right are taken near Barra de Navidad.

- Quimixto, south of PV
- Also refer to Surfing in Nayarit for other surf spots located just over the State line to the north of PV and very convenient to it, even though we list them here in another state.
- Barra de Navidad area:
- Barra de Navidad jetty
- El Ranchito, to the north of Barra de Navidad, off coastal highway 200
- La Manzanilla, between El Tamarindo resort and golf course and Tenacatita (Blue Bay Los Angeles Locos resort and hotel) off highway 200
- El Tecuan, north of Tenacatita, off coastal highway 200
- Punta Farallon, just south of Chamela
- Majahuas
